Do you offer birdseye or flame maple as an neck wood option?

While we used to offer birdseye and flame maple neck woods, more recently we haven’t been able to source any flame or birdseye maple of a quality that meets our demands for tone, stability and figuring.  Recent shipments have been mostly unusable due to poor figuring and had to be sent back.  If we’re able to source adequate material in the future, we may be able to offer it again.

How do I change strings if I have the Locking Tuners?

Removing old strings:  If the string is not broken, loosening the tuner will automatically release the lock. Note: You cannot release the lock with a screw driver or coin if the string is not loose or broken. If the string is broken, use a coin or flathead screw driver to loosen the lock. Six (6) in-line tuners are loosened by turning them counterclockwise. The 3×3 tuners on the Set Neck models are loosened by turning the E, A, and D tuners counter-clockwise and the G, B, and E tuners clockwise.

Installing New Strings:  Pull strings through bridge. Pull string through tuner hole leaving no slack. The string should make a fairly straight line from the nut to the tuner. While holding the string, wind the tuner counter-clockwise – tuner will automatically pinch and tighten string. Tune to pitch. String should not wind around the post more than half of a turn, or full turn at the most. Cut string ends as close as possible to post.

How do I use the blend control?

We offer the blend control on many of our custom models (not available on standard models). Depending on what position you’re in, the blend control is used to blend in the remaining pickups. When you’re in the neck position, it blends in the bridge.  When in the bridge position, it blends in the neck pickup.  When in position 2 or 4, it blends in the third pickup.  When the blend knob is on 10, it has no effect on the sound.  As you roll the knob towards 1, it blends the pickups as described. The blend control provides virtually limitless tonal options!
